Rapid diagnostic reagents awarded national recommendation to pass emergency approval

In order to further strengthen the scientific and technological support of the research and development of new coronavirus detection products for the prevention and control of the epidemic, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, in collaboration with the Drug Administration, released the "Research and Development of Rapid Detection Products for New Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)" project declaration guidelines on 8 February. On 19 February, the project was recommended by the State Council's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism for New Coronavirus Epidemic (Scientific Research and Tackling Group) Office and was included in the emergency approval channel.

The promoted kit uses colloidal gold immunochromatographic technology to detect IgM antibodies to human novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and can obtain test results within 15 minutes by visual observation with only one drop of blood, which can effectively break through the limitations of existing testing technology on people and places and shorten the testing time, enabling rapid diagnosis of suspected patients and on-site screening of people in close contact.

As a member of CHinese Academician Zhong Nanshan's industry-academia-research team, the company relies on the platform of the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases and focuses on the detection of respiratory pathogens. It actively develops various tests for respiratory pathogens to ensure that the scope of testing covers most respiratory pathogens; and develops different methodological testing platforms to ensure that the needs of various types of hospitals are met. In the field of respiratory pathogen testing, the company will continue to research in a more professional and in-depth manner. In this battle against novel coronavirus infection in pneumonia, the company is duty-bound to bring into play its innovative R&D capabilities to help contain the spread of the epidemic!
